UPG Sustainability Leadership

UPG Sustainability Leadership mobilises people and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. The 2023 Class will train and certify at least 500 individuals to become UPG Sustainability Leaders through an online training programme during the months of April - June (total of 10 weeks), with weekly topics available from the mandatory and optional modules in live or recorded format. 

We bring together people who are committed to impact by taking positive actions. With this goal in mind, this programme is designed for young adults between 18 and 35 years old from all paths of life and diverse countries and regions of the world who are passionate about sustainability themes.

The programme offers participants practical tools and formal knowledge so that they can serve as project leaders and trainers within their communities, being able to initiate local projects addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals using the UPG’s 4 pillars as a method to achieve it. 

The material used throughout the training is intended to serve as a useful source during and after the completion of the e-learning modules. The candidates can consult at any time a comprehensive glossary and a step-by-step guide to project management already available on the platform. Additional material can be provided by the experts responsible for each topic.  

The training is designed to be highly engaging and will include a variety of dynamic activities and different tools to enable the participants to acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the substantive issues related to sustainability projects. In addition, the transfer of skills and techniques will enable them to function effectively and efficiently in the role of sustainability leaders.

Every week the candidates will receive activities in order to assess their evolution during the training.
